ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

In memory of
Elzina Dunn Brown
The Elzina Dunn Brown Foundation was created by family members to honor Elzina’s memory after she was tragically lost to gun violence, from the results of domestic violence. The foundation believes this violence is not the fault of an individual alone but stems from systemic breakdowns in community support, opportunity, and safety. We work to address root causes by investing in prevention, education, and services that restore stability and dignity.
Our vision is a world where every community is rooted in unconditional support, trust, and love—where safety, compassion, and unity replace violence, fear, and isolation. Through this foundation, we are committed to building that world.
Our Approach
- Community-centered prevention programs that strengthen families and neighborhood ties
- Survivor support services and emergency resources
- Safe housing and rapid re-housing partnerships
- Advocacy for policy change and better enforcement of protections

Our Mission
To prevent domestic violence by rebuilding community structure — through prevention programs, survivor services, and policy advocacy — so every family can be safe, stable, and supported.

The Elzina Dunn Brown Foundation will implement an online mentoring program designed to support underserviced communities of color experiencing community violence in the Bronx, NY.
The program’s primary objective is to build mental literacy—helping participants understand, regulate, and express their emotions in healthy and constructive ways.
